SIX ESI STAFF RANKED IN TOP 2% OF SCIENTISTS IN THE WORLD (2023)

Six ESI staff are ranked in the top 2% of scientists in the world in the latest Stanford study. The report, published in 4th October 2023, was prepared by a team of experts led by Professor John Ioannidis, the Eminent Professor at the Stanford University. This is the sixth version of the report, which earlier versions were published in November 2022, October 2022, October 2021, October 2020 and July 2019.

The study covers more than 6 million researchers over 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. The research team has created a database of top 2% of world scientists (over 100,000 scientists) on the basis of standardised citation indicators, including information on citations, an individual’s scientific research output or H-index, co-authorship, and a composite indicator for career-long impact.

Five ESI staff are ranked in the “Energy” field (with 287,766 scientists in total), and one ESI staff in the “Mechanical Engineering & Transports” field (with 133,525 scientists in total). The details of their C-scores and rankings for career-long citation impact till end-of-2022 and for citation impact during a single calendar year 2022 are given above.
