Gao Xi officially joined ESI in February 2023 as a Research Associate in the Energy Economics division. His previous experience includes working as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at New York University Shanghai, where he was responsible for data processing with a focus on quantitative analysis of various climate-related spatial and economic data. He also worked as a Commercial Assistant at MannTek AB, a Swedish manufacturer of energy transportation equipment, where he helped the company expand its influence at industry salons and exhibitions. Among these experiences, he developed a greater interest in interdisciplinary research on finance, climate and energy. His current research in ESI focuses on climate finance, carbon pricing and green bonds. Prior to this, he received a Bachelor of Economics degree in Financial Engineering from Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics and a Master of Commerce degree in Applied Finance from the University of Queensland.
