RESEARCH FELLOWS
Lek Keng joined the Energy Studies Institute as a Research Fellow in June 2026. He completes his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where his doctoral research developed an integrated optimisation framework for electric bus charging scheduling and infrastructure planning with solar power integration. He also holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from UTM.
Prior to joining ESI, Lek Keng worked as a Research Assistant at PROSPECT, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where his research focused on energy systems modelling and optimisation for clean energy transition planning across Southeast Asia. His work includes developing MILP and optimising battery energy storage systems, modelling green hydrogen production, modelling cross-border energy trading, and conducting energy audits for buildings.- Renewable energy system optimisation and planning
