RESEARCH ASSOCIATES
Finsen joined ESI in October 2023 as a Research Associate. He holds two bachelor’s degrees in chemical engineering and general business management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as a master’s degree in energy systems from the National University of Singapore.
Finsen has five years of experience in the biofuel industry, working in biofuel production plants in Hong Kong and mainland China. His main responsibilities included acquiring sustainability certifications, conducting policy studies in China and Europe, and developing supply strategies for renewable feedstock.
His current research interests focus on low-carbon technologies, energy systems modelling, decarbonization strategies and climate policy in the context of energy transition.
