YU Yan joined the Energy Studies Institute in November 2023 as a Research Associate in the Energy Economics division. Prior to joining ESI, she completed her undergraduate studies in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics at Monash University, followed by her Master of Science in Business Analytics at NUS. Throughout her academic journey, she actively participated in various research projects, delving into microeconomic areas such as corporate finance, strategic management, and financial risk analysis. Additionally, she explored macroeconomics topics, particularly in the fields of energy security and decarbonization studies.

Yan possesses a deep understanding of statistical and econometric modeling, as well as expertise in data analytics and programming techniques. Her current research interests revolve around the intricate interplay of energy economics, climate change, and financial markets, with a focus on understanding their profound impact.
