Ian joined the Energy Studies Institute in Oct 2023 as Senior Manager. He supports the Executive Director on strategic planning, research capacity building and seeking collaboration and partnership opportunities for the institute. Prior to this appointment, Ian has spent 10 years in the oil industry with 2 oil majors in Singapore. His past responsibilities include pricing analyst for asphalt, regional sales manager for industrial lubricants, and engineering service manager for automotive and industrial lubricants. Ian has also spent 1 year at the Economic Development Board (EDB) supporting the transformation of Jurong Island as a sustainable energy and chemicals industrial park. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and currently pursuing Masters in Mechanical Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS) with focus on green technologies and sustainability.
