The Second Meeting of Working Group on Preparation of Energy Outlook and Analysis of Energy Saving Potential in East Asia Region

Dr. Zhong Sheng, a Research Fellow at ESI, participated in a three-day meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on 24-26 April 2019. This event was organized by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) jointly with the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ).

This event is a regular working group for the preparation of Energy Outlook and Analysis of Energy Saving Potential in East Asia region. ESI contributes to the research of the impacts of EV penetration on Singapore’s energy demand and emissions. The working group members include policymakers and researchers from ASEAN member states, East Asia (China, Japan and South Korea), Oceania (Australia and New Zealand) and the United States. At the meeting, participants from ASEAN discussed the impacts of EV on their countries’ energy and emission saving potentials. The participants from non-ASEAN presented the modelling techniques used in their countries’ energy outlooks.
