MEWR Partners Forum for the Environment 2018

Ms Melissa Low, ESI Research Fellow, participated in the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources 2nd Partners Forum for the Environment 2018 on Accelerating Action on Climate Change held on 10 July 2018. The PFE2018 was held in conjunction with the World Cities Summit, Singapore International Water Week and Clean Enviro Summit Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The Forum brought together stakeholders from businesses, NGOs, the community and agencies to discuss how we can move towards our vision of a Sustainable Singapore.

The Forum saw welcome remarks delivered by Minister for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Masagos Zulkifli and a keynote speech by Mr Tomasz Chruszczow, Special Envoy for Climate Change, Poland’s High Level Climate Champion. Ms Jessica Cheam, Chairperson for the Climate Action SG Alliance and Managing Editor of Eco-Business and Ms Yulanda Chung, Head of Sustainability, Institutional Banking Group, DBS also shared on initiatives undertaken.

Melissa was theme facilitator for the Youth Empowerment table discussion. The other theme facilitators were Ms Ng Lay San, Senior Vice President, Strategic Communications and Sustainability, Sembcorp Industries Ltd and Ms Fuziah Taha, Associate, Pre-School Education, Schools Division, Ministry of Education who facilitated the Capacity Building for Organisations/Companies and Education themes respectively.

The PFE 2018 was attended by over 220 participants from the 3P (people, public and private) sectors.
