ADBI Workshop on Energy Security and Renewable Energy

Dr. Liu Yang, ESI Senior Research Fellow and Dr. Zhong Sheng, ESI Research Fellow, were invited to participate in a two-day workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 – 13 March 2018, titled Achieving Energy Security in Central Asia: Role of Renewable Energy.  The event was organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), jointly with Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute. Participants include researchers from academia, think tanks, ADB and government officials from CAREC member countries. At the workshop, participants discussed various policy, regulatory, technical, and financial aspects of renewable energy deployment, and how renewable energy can enhance energy security.

At the event, Dr. Zhong Sheng gave a presentation titled Towards Energy Security in ASEAN: Impact of Regional Trade, Renewables and Energy Efficiency. Dr. Liu Yang participated in the roundtable discussion.
