ESI participated in the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) International Panel of Experts (IPE) meeting that was held at the Fullerton Hotel on 1 November 2016. The meeting discussed beyond business-as-usual ideas that will help Singapore create continued growth opportunities through new inputs from the panel on game-changing ideas (process, products, etc.) for the 2016 Concept Plan Review.

On behalf of ESI, Dr Su Bin and Dr Christopher Len presented “Energy Studies for Resilience in Planning” in a session entitled “Building Resilience in Planning – Resource Sustainability” which took place in the morning. The session also featured other invited representatives from various government agencies.

The panel is made up of renowned international architects, urban economists, planners, and developers and is chaired by URA’s Chairman Mr Peter Ho. The panel advises on international best practices, trends in planning and urban design, and development strategies of cities around the world. Additionally, they provide feedback on planning and urban design issues raised by URA, and identify ways to promote innovative architecture and urban design in Singapore.
