Ms. Melissa Low moderated at the ASEAN Power Shift 2015 Conference, Singapore

From 25-26th July 2015, Ms. Melissa Low, Research Associate in the Energy and Environment division at ESI, served as moderator in the ASEAN Power Shift 2015 Conference, held at the United World College Southeast Asia Campus. She moderated two panels titled “Understanding Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) & What it Means for ASEAN” and “Implementing Environmental Education: A Comparative Case Study”.

The speakers on the first panel on INDCs included:
  • Ambassador Kwok Fook Seng, Singapore’s Chief Negotiator for Climate Change
  • Mr. Navann Ouk, Deputy Director-General, Ministry of Environment of Cambodia
  • Chris Wright, Climate Researcher and Activist with Adopt a Negotiator

The speakers on the second panel on environmental education included:

  • Associate Professor Lye Lin-Heng, Faculty of Law, NUS and Director of the Faculty’s Asia-Pacific Center for Environmental Law (APCEL)
  • Mrs Chew Lai Mun, Principal of Marsiling Primary School and recipient of the National Environmental Agency’s EcoFriend Award 2014
  • Associate Prof Vilma Ann D’Rozario, Psychological Studies Academic Group at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University
