Joint ESI-US Embassy Singapore seminar on the Arctic and Climate Change

Mr George Roe, Adjunct Research Professor with the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP), University of Alaska Fairbanks delivered a presentation on “Climate Change in the Arctic: Lessons on Energy for Sustainable Development from Alaska” at The Pod, at the National Library, Singapore in the evening of 25 January 2016. The event was attended by students, people from the private sector and general members of the public.

Commander Blake McBride of the Office of Naval Research at the United States Embassy Singapore also spoke briefly about the U.S.’ role in the Arctic Council, of which the U.S. is Chair from 2015–17.

The U.S. Embassy Singapore was the Event Partner for this talk and the National Library Board was the Venue Sponsor.

On 28 January 2016, Mr Roe will be visiting Temasek Junior College to present at a seminar organised for students there on the topic of the realities of Climate Change in the Arctic.
