The Future Of The Arctic: Geopolitical, Environmental And Business Perspectives

A conference on international cooperation, research and business in the Arctic organized by Arctic Frontiers in collaboration with The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Singapore, The National University of Singapore & The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore

29 September 2017, 09:00–14:00 followed by lunch
Venue: Grand Copthorne Waterfront, 392 Havelock Rd, Singapore 169663
Seminar: Galleria Ballroom 1&2, Level 3 Lunch: Lyrebird Room, Level 3

The Arctic is a complex region gaining increased attention. Climate change is a global challenge, with particular impacts in the Arctic. How do we balance sustainable use with prudent conservation in the Arctic, without making it a ‘museum’? Is responsible business development a contradiction in terms, or a possible driver for green solutions? What does the ‘blue future’ contain for us? How can Norway and Singapore collaborate to strengthen the bilateral cooperation on Arctic issues?
