CONFERENCE ON NUCLEAR OFF-SITE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE IN THE AFTERMATH OF FUKUSHIMA 2018

The ESI-CIL Nuclear Governance Project organised a conference titled "Nuclear Off-Site Emergency Preparedness and Response in the Aftermath of Fukushima" on Tuesday, 10 July 2018. Discussions centred on Post-Fukushima Off-site EPR challenges and responses; the international normative setting of EPR; and nuclear emergency assistance arrangements at the global, regional and bilateral levels. Presentations were given by Mr Bojan Tomic, Principal Consultant at ENCO; Prof Günther Handl, Tulane University Law School; Mr João Oliveira Martins, Portuguese Environment Agency; and Dr Yutthana Tumnoi, Office of Atoms for Peace. Approximately 50 participants attended, representing government agencies, think tanks, research institutes, and the private sector.
