PARTICIPATION IN THE WORLD NUCLEAR ASSOCIATION SYMPOSIUM 2016, UK

ESI Senior Principal Fellow and Principal Investigator of the Nuclear Governance Project, Dr Philip Andrews-Speed, attended the Annual Symposium of the World Nuclear Association (WNA) held in London on 15-16 September 2016. The WNA represents the international nuclear industry along the full supply chain from uranium mining through power generation to waste management. The varied Symposium agenda encompassed presentations, one-on-one interviews, and high-level panels on the most important industry issues today. One of the most enthusiastic welcomes was given to Mr Vincent de Rivaz, CEO of EDF Energy, for it was only the day before that the UK government had given the go-ahead for the construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. The sessions at the Symposium reflected its wide membership. Approximately 600 leaders and specialists in nuclear energy attended the Symposium. You can find the event report here.
