Biography

Dr Yuan Jun joined ESI in August 2016. He obtained his PhD degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2013, awarded with “The National Semiconductor Gold Medal”. His PhD studies focus on statistical modeling, applied statistical methods and simulation optimisation. He received his Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering & Management from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008. In 2007, he attended the exchange program in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Before joining the ESI, he was a research fellow at the Centre for Next Generation Logistics and the Centre for Maritime Studies, where he contributed to several projects including the modeling and optimisation in energy efficiency, maritime issues and healthcare systems. He co-founded a supply chain company in 2013 where the integrated solutions were provided to industrial clients. His main research interests include maritime energy and environmental systems modeling, data analysis, and smart energy.
