Dr Dina AZHGALIYEVA

Research Highlights

Dina joined ESI in July 2017. Prior to joining the ESI, Dina was a Research Fellow at the University of Reading (UK), where she was involved in empirical analysis of the impact of local content policy on extractive industries. Her work also involved communication with policy makers, extractive industry and oil and gas service companies. In 2012-2015 Dina was an Economics Teaching Fellow at the University College London. She also worked as a chief specialist at the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan. She holds a PhD in Economics, Master in Economics and Graduate Diploma in Economics, all from the University of Essex (UK). For her PhD thesis “Fiscal Policy in Resource-Rich Countries” she was awarded two scholarships, from the University of Essex and Soros Foundation. Dina holds an internationally recognised teaching qualification, Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA, UK) since 2015 and qualification in Research Career Management of Staff Educational and Development Association (SEDA, UK) since 2017.
