Two university-level research centres at the National University of Singapore (NUS) – the Centre for International Law (CIL) and the NUS Energy Studies Institute (ESI) have secured a joint research grant for nuclear law and policy research pursuant to the Singapore Government’s Nuclear Policy Research Programme. The ESI-CIL Nuclear Governance Project focuses on two main research areas: international, regional and national legislative and regulatory frameworks for nuclear safety and security; and nuclear liability. This three-year Project will complete by the end of 2018.

Job Scope

The ESI-CIL Nuclear Governance project is looking for a Project Editor who will be responsible for substantive editing, copy-editing, proofreading and formatting of the Project outputs that include project reports, event reports, academic publications (journal articles and book chapters), training course/conference materials and publicity materials. The Project Editor will need to ensure Project outputs comply with any applicable NUS regulations and Project formatting requirements. The Project Editor will also assist with knowledge management for the Project.


  • Possess a good degree in mass communication, journalism, social sciences or the humanities with at least 3-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, cooperating with Project team to meet Project deadlines
  • Strong people and communication skills working with multi-disciplinary team (including non-native English writers)
  • Ability to handle both print and digital media
  • Detail-oriented and strong organisational and execution skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications and reference tools such as EndNote
  • Prior experience editing legal and policy related documents will be a distinct advantage
